History of Nent Hall
Nent Hall was originally built in 1738 by a local mine owner. However, as well as mining lead he also had the good fortune of striking silver! The house gained its Italian style facade in 1858, after the mine owner's daughter employed an eminent architect of the time, renowned for his love of Italian design. The house has been extended many times during its life, the ten bedroom East Wing being the latest addition. Most recently Nent Hall has undergone an extensive two year, million pound refurbishment to attain the high standards which you will see to day. The refurbishment included all of the bedrooms, guest areas, bar and grounds, turning Nent Hall into the classic country house you see today. |
